This weekend kicks off with Earth Day on Friday! Every day should be Earth Day but let’s remind ourselves the importance of taking care of our planet for ourselves as well as for future generations.  The link below provides a list of 10 Earth Day activities in Chicago and the suburbs.  In addition to Earth Day, other activities include Kids Night Out Cooking on Friday night where you can drop the kiddos off for a 3 hour cooking class/activity while you enjoy the town, Kids Concert at Beat Kitchen on Saturday or maybe you want to enjoy Lincoln Park Zoo.  See below for a list of daily zoo activities! Kids Night Out Cooking

What: Everyone deserves a night out once in a while. Instead of leaving the kids home with a babysitter, drop them off for a fun-filled evening with us and enjoy a few grown-up hours out on the town! Kids get to make their own dinner. After eating and a little clean up, we'll do a post-meal activity, like a food-themed craft, games, yoga or a movie.

Spring Break Open Jump

What: Spring Break Jumps includes playtime in Arenas A & B. Online reservations strongly recommended to expedite check in and guarantee your spot! Admission is $12/child, adults are free. Online purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Earth Day at Little Beans

What: Let's celebrate the earth. We’ll have an earth day craft thats fun for all ages. For $5 kids can decorate their own pots and plant seeds. We’ll also be decorating seed packets to be donated to The Kindness Connection benefiting urban gardens.

FREE Storytime at Open Books

What: Join us at 10 am every Thursday and Saturday for a story time in the children’s section of our West Loop store! Every week, we’ll have new tales, activities, and (on special occasions) prizes.

Open Books is a nonprofit social venture that provides literacy experiences for tens of thousands of readers each year through inspiring programs and the creative capitalization of books.

Kids Improv Show

What: From superheroes to undersea adventures, princesses to dinosaurs, Storytown takes you on an interactive, fully improvised adventure. The actors use audience suggestions and ideas to create a different story every week. Kids design the setting and help shape the story. The actors, artists and musicians bring it to life. When the possibilities are endless, no two stories are ever the same. Shows are recommended for ages 3-10 and their whole family.

Shows are every Saturday at 10:30 AM.

Kids Eat Free at Shaw’s Brunch 

What: Shaw's Crab House is two restaurants in one, a jazzy, sophisticated, seafood restaurant and a carefree, lively oyster bar. Weekend brunch at Shaw’s is a grand affair. Brunch is a decadent multi station experience with shellfish and seafood station, traditional breakfast station, omelet/waffle station, surf and turf station and finally a decadent sweets table. Drop By Family Fun at Nature Museum

What: Each month on Saturdays and Sundays, Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum highlights a nature topic to explore through crafts, experiments and activities. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by and participate. The Nature Museum gives people the opportunity to create an authentic connection to nature and provides a chance to build on its legacy of scientific research and citizen science.

Kids Eat Free at Foodlife

What: Every Sunday from 5 – 7pm, kids can make their own pizza for free.  It is an awesome deal as they offer three free kids meals for every adult meal purchased.  Each kiddo can design his or her own pizza, baked by a Foodlife chef.  To top it off, they can eat their creations while enjoying a classic kids movie on the big screen.  How cool is that!? And, adults can purchase a meal from any of the kitchens within Foodlife.  So, if your kiddo is craving pizza, this is the place to be! What a great way to spice up your Sunday night!  Limited to children 10 and under.
