July 4th weekend is almost here and there are so many fun, family events in the city for the whole family to enjoy! So, grab the kiddos, pack the sunblock and let's celebrate America. Here are some fun activities in Chicago that the whole family can enjoy:



WINDY CITY RIBFEST


Start the weekend by attending the Windy City Ribfest! The festival dates are Friday, July 2 to Sunday, July 5th. The festival is filled with ribs and lots of ribs, live music from local bands and a super fun Kids Zone.



Time:

Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4 from Noon to 10PM. Sunday, July 5 from Noon to 9 PM.



Location:

Lawrence and Broadway in Chicago

Event Parking:
Event parking for only $10 per day is available in the Aragon Ballroom parking lot. The parking lot is located on the southeast corner of Lawrence and Winthrop, one block east from the festival entrance.

FAMILY FUN FESTIVAL

Cool down in the Family Fun Festival Tent at Millennium Park! The tent offers interactive activities, music and arts and crafts for kids of all ages. Activity zones located throughout the tent. Stay cool and let the kiddos enjoy some activity fun before the big fireworks show!

CELEBRATION AT THE HISTORY MUSEUM

This Fourth of July, come celebrate with the kiddos at the Chicago History Museum! Their outdoor family-friendly festivities include patriotic music, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, a keynote oration by civic leader Ronald J. Gidwitz, and a children’s costume parade led by the World’s Tallest Uncle Sam. Afterward, come inside for the grand opening of the new experiences in our Naphtali ben Yakov Pritzker American History Wing.

GRANT PARK MUSIC FEST INDEPENDENCE DAY SALUTE

Christopher Bell leads the Grant Park Orchestra for its annual Independence Day Salute, full of patriotic favorites including Gershwin's soaring Piano Concerto in F with pianist Terrence Wilson. Bring a blanket, picnic dinner and come listen to some beautiful music under the stars. No need to go anywhere afterwards as the Navy Pier July 4th fireworks starts right at 9:30 PM. Concert is Saturday, July 4 from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

JULY 4TH NAVY PIER FIREWORKS

Celebrate America's Independence with a spectacular 4th of July fireworks display scheduled at 9:30 PM to 10 PM. Catch the fireworks show from anywhere around Navy Pier.
