Halloween Fun in Chicago!
Why wait till the end of October to celebrate Halloween when you can celebrate the whole month of October? And, that is exactly what Chicago is offering, a full month of fun, spooky, kid friendly Halloween events. There is something for everyone here from haunted houses to ghost stories and of course some sweet treats. Or maybe a haunted cruise on beautiful Lake Michigan, family friendly of course! Enjoy and have a spooky good time!
River North Halloween Festival
What: Join us on October 28 for our annual Halloween Fest in Ward Park! Wild costumes, trick-or-treating, pumpkin decorating, fun games and Halloween portraits!

Lincoln Park Zoo is a fun destination, but there’s plenty of spooky stuff lurking beneath the surface. This after-hours ghost tour will share the zoo’s cemetery roots, highlight a 19th-century “Suicide Bridge” and identify which animal house is most likely to be haunted. Paranormal investigator Ursula Bielski, equipped with electronic voice phenomena recording gear, takes guests on an interactive tour of the zoo’s most haunted spaces. Experience eerie sounds and inexplicable photos taken at the zoo while reliving its historical past. Your Ghost Tour Guide: A practice paranormal investigator, tour guide Ursula Bielski of Chicago Hauntings has more than 20 years experience leading local ghost tours. Snacks are available for purchase. Beer and wine available for guests 21 and older. What: On Saturday, October 21 and Saturday, October 28, join Navy Pier for Fright Flicks, a free outdoor film screening of favorite Halloween movies. Grab a blanket and get comfortable at the Lake Stage on the Polk Bros Park Performance Lawns as Navy Pier presents a double feature at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., with a mix of family-friendly films and classic horror films. The Pier will also offer complimentary treats to Fright Flicks guests on a first-come, first-served basis while supply lasts.

The Chicago Blackhawks will host a pre-parade celebration - special highlights will include the Blackhawks street team, music and a Blackhawks inspired mural featuring Halloween elements to commemorate the artist’s holiday in conjunction with hockey. Arts in the Dark - Halloween Parade of Artists draws together Chicago’s vast creative community, from world-renowned cultural institutions to aspiring artists in every field. The Art Institute and School of the Art Institute will march in medieval-style armor, Broadway In Chicago will invite their devoted fans to dress up as their favorite Broadway characters, 1871 will have a float modeled after the Chicago Merchandise Mart, and After School Matters will have multiple programs participating including West Town Bikes with decorated cycles and riders, the Mariachi Ensemble, Aztec Dance Chicago and The Art of Drumming.
