Easter weekend is full of family fun including egg hunts, pictures with the Easter Bunny as well as many Chicago restaurants that offer Easter Sunday Brunch. Whether you are looking for a fun Easter activity or just a fun Chicago activity, this list has got you covered. Check out the Free music class at St. Nicholas Cathedral or head over to the Teen Learning Lab at Shedd Aquarium. FREE Baby & Tot Music Class

What: St. Nicholas Cathedral School hosts a FREE weekly music and movement class for babies, toddlers and kids ages 6 months to 4 years old. And of course adults and caretakers are welcome too. For more information on this program, please contact the admission office.

Please register to guarantee a space in class. If there are spaces available at the time classes begin, cash will be accepted at the door on a first come, first served basis.

What: Frasca is a neighborhood Italian restaurant that is very kid friendly.  Their specialties include pizzas, hearty pastas and an extensive selection of wine. The main dining room is open and inviting with comfortable leather banquets, wood tables and large retractable windows, perfect for a cozy winter’s night or family dining.

Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch

What: Easter Egg Hunt begins at 9:30 AM and is open to the first 200 Easter baskets sold. 

Easter Brunch with the Easter Bunny is from 9:30 AM to 3 PM and includes one mimosa. Brunch includes made to order omelets, waffles, prime rib, seafood, salad bar and delectable desserts.

Cost: Brunch for adults is $34, for kids 6 - 12 is $15, free for kids 5 and under. Easter baskets for the egg hunt sold for $2 each.

What: Explore your interests in science and the natural world in a space that’s designed by teens, for teens. High school students can use this high-tech space free! We'll connect you with other science-minded teens and Shedd experts to spark amazing synergies.
Teens are invited to use this space to make new friends, work on projects or programs, or conduct their own science experiments.

Our equipment and technology are for their use, and Shedd experts will be there as a resource! The possibilities are endless! Teens can connect with Shedd mentors; produce videos, audio, podcasts and photos; conduct scientific research; lead or participate in stewardship activities; receive assistance with projects; hang out, study, read, or engage in social media activities. 

Equipment: Apple MacBook Pros and Mac Pros, podcasting equipment, iPads, scanners, iPod docking stations, printers, Smart Board and Adobe Software Suite (including Photoshop and Illustrator) and iMovie.

What:  Calling all inventors! Turn your idea into an item you make in our fabrication laboratory, or Fab Lab. Ready to try your hand at manufacturing design, technology and engineering? The Wanger Family Fab Lab is a small-scale workshop where you can dream up, design and make items from practical to whimsical using cutting-edge software and equipment.

3D Printing workshop is daily at 1:45 p.m. Also Sunday, Tuesday and Friday at 10 a.m. Explore the latest printing technology and take home a custom 3D object!
